About the Role

TasWater is embarking on a transformative digital modernisation program, leveraging data-driven insights to enhance operational efficiency, customer experiences, and stay at the forefront of the digital landscape.

This initiative involves integrating advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, and IoT into our operations, necessitating the expansion of our team with new and exciting roles.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive Data Strategy and Data Governance Framework to inform better decision-making.
  2. Lead and manage a team of specialists in data and analytics to maximise business value.
  3. Oversee the continuous improvement of the data and analytics function, aligning with industry best practices.
  4. Manage project life cycles, identifying and mitigating risks to ensure successful project outcomes.
  5. Maintain a strong knowledge of the water industry and regulatory frameworks impacting data and analytics.
Requirements

To be successful, we're seeking an individual with:

  1. Proven experience in a leadership role overseeing a technical team within a complex organisation.
  2. Strong technical ICT and project management skills with a focus on data and analytics.
  3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage and influence stakeholders.
  4. Extensive experience in data and people management, with a focus on delivering business outcomes in line with a corporate strategy.
