About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and talented individual to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in managing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards, and that the dining experience meets our high expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Executive Chef in planning and implementing menus, specials, and promotions.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of dishes, ensuring that they meet our high quality standards.
  • Supervise and train junior chefs, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Monitor food costs and inventory, making recommendations for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure that all health and safety procedures are followed, maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
  • Work closely with other departments, including front-of-house and housekeeping, to ensure seamless communication and cooperation.

Requirements

  • Qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in a luxury hotel or high-end restaurant.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide junior staff.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a focus on quality and consistency.
  • Able to work under pressure, meeting deadlines and handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly.
