Job Description

The Senior Manager - Customer Deal Desk is responsible for leading a team of Customer Deal Desk Managers who oversee the end-to-end contracting process for large and complex deals in the region. They utilize their commercial and contractual expertise, as well as knowledge of Oracle policies and processes, to position these deals for successful closure and optimal outcomes for both Oracle and customers. This role requires expertise in stakeholder management, tracking multiple deal threads, and utilizing influencing and communication skills to ensure seamless collaboration and deal close planning. As deals often involve groundbreaking and first-of-their-kind scenarios, the Senior Manager - Customer Deal Desk must be comfortable navigating uncharted territory and developing practical solutions to novel problems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 4 Direct Reports and provide leadership and guidance to the wider Customer Deal Desk organization.
  • Provide dedicated support and lead the virtual deal team for assigned deals, hosting regular cadence calls, project managing tasks/actions, and leading the deal to a successful conclusion.
  • Work proactively with Sales and functional stakeholders to develop a realistic close plan, including identifying key milestones, anticipating potential issues, and identifying resolutions.
  • Provide weekly management reporting on deal status, real-time visibility into deal plans, issues, and sales participation.
  • Advise Sales on applicable Oracle policies and contract terms, ensuring clear and unambiguous contract terminology.
  • Lead objection handling activities for assigned deals, including review and response to complex Master Agreements, customer redlines, and issues lists.
  • Facilitate internal discussions amongst functional stakeholders to reach practical business solutions to complex contracting issues.
  • Collaborate with and provide guidance to drafters responsible for drafting deals, ensuring complex deal drafting under the guidance of legal.
  • Complete final review of contract documents to ensure all contract terms have been appropriately approved by Oracle and the contract reflects all negotiated commitments.
