Job Profile

The Senior Payroll Strategist will lead a high-performing payroll team, overseeing accurate and compliant global payroll. This role requires extensive experience in payroll operations, including leadership roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the payroll team to ensure timely and accurate payment of employees
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws, superannuation requirements, and Fair Work obligations across multiple jurisdictions
  • Streamline processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Act as the go-to expert for payroll queries, compliance, and audits
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including HR, Finance, and vendors
  • Identify and deliver continuous improvements to enhance service delivery

Requirements

  • Extensive payroll operations experience, including 1-2+ years in a leadership role
  • Proven success managing payroll across multiple countries, with Australia and New Zealand being essential
  • Strong grasp of legislation, Awards, PAYG, superannuation, and compliance requirements
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills – confident, clear, and influential
  • Leadership style that develops and motivates people
  • Able to work at pace and lead change
  • Mindset for improvement – someone who thrives on making systems and better
