Western Health is a leading healthcare provider in Melbourne, Australia. As a Patient Liaison Officer, you will be working closely with patients, families, carers, and hospital staff to deliver exceptional customer service.

The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and negotiate with patients and staff at all levels. You will also have a passion for driving successful revenue outcomes and promoting patient satisfaction.

About The Role:

  • Extensive communication with patients, family, carers and hospital staff
  • Fast-paced Customer Service role in a busy Public Hospital setting
  • To determine the correct patient classification including Medicare ineligible patients
  • Obtain patient information such as patient health insurance fund details
  • Having financial discussions and obtaining paperwork and payments
  • Liasing with health funds to determine patient eligibility
  • Being responsible for the revenue recovery of Medicare Ineligible patients; this role actively promotes patients to pay upfront for their hospital journey in a timely manner to satisfy revenue department requirements

About You:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Help drive successful revenue outcomes
  • Health fund or previous PLO experience preferred
  • Competency to interpret/analyse data
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport, negotiate and form relationships with patients and staff at all levels
  • Being a team player and showing problem solving initiative
  • Adaptable
