Job Opportunity

The role of Clinical Autism Intervention Specialist provides an opportunity to work with a provincial service delivery mandate, focusing on early intervention for preschool-age children with autism.

Job Description

This position is part of an interprofessional team and involves facilitating goal-setting processes with families, providing assessments related to these goals, and developing, implementing, and coordinating intervention programs tailored to individual needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate collaborative goal-setting with families
  • Provide assessment and development of intervention plans
  • Coordinate and implement intervention programs
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Master's degree in a relevant field such as Clinical Psychology, Speech Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, or BCBA
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with the appropriate professional body in Nova Scotia
  • Valid Class 5 Nova Scotia driver's license and reliable vehicle
  • CPR certification within the last 12 months and First Aid certification
  • Two years of recent experience working with children with autism (ages 0-6) and their families
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in autism intervention
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interprofessional team
