Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Team Leader to lead the day-to-day operations of the Structures and Stormwater Team.

The successful candidate will have hands-on experience in stormwater infrastructure and civil structures, as well as strong leadership, organisational and safety-focused capabilities.

They will supervise daily activities, ensure efficient delivery of maintenance and repairs, perform safety checks on worksites, plant and stormwater management systems, and deliver consistent and decisive leadership to the team.

  • Supervise daily activities of the Stormwater and Structures Team
  • Perform safety checks on worksites, plant and stormwater management systems
  • Deliver consistent and decisive leadership to the team
  • Lead, mentor and support team development through training and performance feedback
  • Maintain stormwater and concrete structures across the Council's road network
  • Scope and coordinate work with contractors
  • Plan appropriate resourcing of plant, equipment, contractors and labour for each project
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and experience in supervising and leading staff
  • Knowledge of, and demonstrated experience in plant and equipment used in formwork, concreting, road construction and pipe laying
  • Working knowledge of employee obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act
  • Developed written and oral communication skills, along with computer, literacy and numeracy skills
