Family Preservation Team Lead

The role of Family Preservation Team Lead is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to manage a small team of Case Workers, delivering targeted voluntary intervention services to children and young people aged 0-17.

About the Opportunity

This position requires a dynamic leader who can motivate and empower their team to support families in need. As a Family Preservation Team Lead, you will be responsible for managing a team to deliver high-quality services that align with our organisational values and operational frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of Case Workers to deliver the Family Preservation program, ensuring best practice and compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Actively engage across supervisory tasks such as consults, debriefs, and facilitated group sessions to embed the Thriving Families Framework in daily practice.
  • Provide regular performance feedback to staff to ensure continuous improvement through the development of quarterly improvement plans (QIP's) aligned with the Thriving Families Framework.
  • Nurture strong relationships and partnerships with internal/external stakeholders, governing bodies, and shared health services for cross-unit engagement and support.
  • Ensure timely and accurate record-keeping and documentation is completed according to organisational/regulatory guidelines, as well as preparing service delivery reports and other required reporting as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Qualifications in social work, psychology, or similar, as well as proven management and leadership experience within community services/child and family or a social work environment.
  • Computer proficiency - intermediate or advanced skills across the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to tailor communication and training style to suit a variety of stakeholders and experience levels, ability to operate within and nurture a strong feedback culture.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills - a proactive approach to managing resources and timelines to meet deliverables.
  • Alignment with organisational values and operational frameworks.
  • Successful candidates will be required to obtain a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Check, as well as have an unrestricted NSW Driver's License.
