About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Child Protection Caseworker to join our team at the NSW Department of Communities and Justice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to reports of safety concerns surrounding children or young people who may have been harmed.
  • Work sensitively and respectfully with parents, family members, children or young people to address safety and well-being concerns.
  • Develop and implement safety plans and complete risk assessments to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and families.
  • Manage complex cases and situations, including working with high-needs and high-risk clients and their families.
  • Participate in court processes, including the preparation of court documents and attending court hearings.
  • Engage in individual and group supervision to ensure ongoing professional development and support.
Requirements
  • Completed or in the final semester of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Social Science, or a related field, along with practical experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • A valid driver's licence (P1 or above) and a paid working with children clearance number.
