About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Multicultural Child Protection Specialist to join our team at the NSW Department of Communities and Justice. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting vulnerable children and families from diverse backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Respond to reports of child harm or safety concerns, prioritizing the safety and well-being of children and young people.
  2. Work collaboratively with parents, family members, children, and other agencies to develop safety plans and complete risk assessments.
  3. Provide primary and secondary casework services to families from diverse cultural backgrounds, utilizing your cross-cultural skills and expertise.
  4. Offer cultural consultations and language support to other caseworkers, promoting cultural sensitivity and understanding.
What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Social Science, or a related field, with practical experience.
  2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
  3. A valid driver's license (P1 or above) and a paid working with children clearance number.
