Job Overview

The Department for Education seeks an experienced Senior Claims Consultant to manage a portfolio of workers compensation claims. This role requires strong communication and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to investigate claim circumstances and make evidence-based decisions regarding liability and entitlements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate claim circumstances by obtaining relevant medical, factual, and legal information
  • Manage entitlements through the recovery, return to work, and medical phases of a claim's life cycle
  • Represent the department in dispute resolution proceedings before the South Australian Employment Tribunal

Requirements:

  • Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check
  • RRHAN – EC Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or online fundamentals course

Working Arrangements:

This is a full-time position within the Department for Education. The successful applicant will be required to work flexible hours and may be required to attend meetings outside of normal working hours.

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this role is $85,000 - $105,000 per annum, depending on experience.
