Job Title: Senior External Dispute Resolution Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior External Dispute Resolution Officer to join our team at Suncorp Group. As a key member of our External Customer Relations team, you will play a critical role in managing insurance-related complaints lodged through external dispute resolution (EDR) schemes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a dynamic and varied portfolio of insurance complaints referred to EDR schemes, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, balancing empathy with commercial acumen, to achieve high-quality solutions for customers and the business.
  • Prepare and submit high-quality submissions and correspondence to AFCA, maintaining accurate and timely records in Suncorp's complaint systems.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including case workers at AFCA, and participate in EDR scheme external forums.
  • Utilize industry knowledge, delegations, and internal policy and procedures to analyze and determine the appropriate course of action in managing complaints.
  • Convey complex material and reasoning to a wide variety of audiences, identifying possible systemic issues and opportunities for improvement.
Requirements:
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong dispute resolution experience and/or industry experience preferably within insurance.
  • Proficiency in learning new IT systems and tools.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities in a timely, efficient, and risk-aware manner.
  • Tertiary qualifications in legal, finance, or similar will be highly regarded.
