Tax Compliance Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized professional to play a key role in payroll tax compliance, process improvement, and entity consolidation efforts.
The Payroll Tax Analyst will support a high-performing payroll department based in Charlotte, NC.
Main Responsibilities:- Support the transition of payroll frequency from semimonthly to biweekly
- Collaborate on a project consolidating multiple companies into one unified structure
- Provide guidance on federal, state, and local payroll tax issues
- Prepare, review, and file payroll tax returns and documents
- Manage year-end payroll tax activities, including setting up and closing tax accounts across jurisdictions
- Ensure ongoing compliance with all relevant payroll tax regulations and deadlines
- Assist with audits and respond to tax-related inquiries or discrepancies
- Prior experience with Workday and/or ADP payroll systems
- Strong knowledge of payroll tax laws, reporting, and compliance
- Experience supporting multi-state payroll operations
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
