Tax Compliance Expert Job Description

The Tax Compliance Expert will play a pivotal role in ensuring the organization's tax obligations are met accurately and efficiently. This position is responsible for managing corporate income, payroll, and sales/use tax compliance, while also providing support for audits, tax strategy, and research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee corporate tax compliance processes in coordination with external service providers.
  • Prepare and file sales and use tax returns on a regular basis.
  • Manage income, sales/use, and property tax audits, including communication with external auditors.
  • Respond to and manage inquiries and notices from tax authorities.
  • Assist with quarterly and annual tax provisions, including estimated tax calculations.
  • Research complex tax issues and provide recommendations on current and emerging tax legislation.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize tax credits, incentives, and deductions.
  • Review and evaluate accounting procedures for compliance, accuracy, and process improvements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxation (Master's preferred).
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of tax experience, preferably in public accounting or a corporate tax department.
  • Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
