Compliance Manager - Asia Pacific Region

The role is a strategic leadership position within the APAC Compliance and Conduct Risk team, responsible for leading regulatory change and compliance management across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of compliance frameworks, policies, and systems to ensure effective compliance management.
  • Provide expert guidance and assurance to obligation owners, supporting the implementation and ongoing monitoring of robust compliance plans.
  • Lead the regulatory change function, driving the identification, assessment, and implementation of new requirements across the business.
  • Ensure effective change management, compliance alignment, and oversight of obligation management processes.
  • Lead the monitoring and assurance activity to assess compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Provide independent oversight, control testing, and thematic reviews to identify emerging risks, evaluate control effectiveness, and recommend enhancements.
  • Support the preparation of accurate, insightful compliance reports for management, executive, and board audiences.

Requirements:

  • Roughly 10 years of professional experience in compliance roles within highly regulated environments.
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, law, or compliance (professional compliance accreditation highly regarded) or equivalent professional experience.
  • Deep practical and technical expertise in compliance including obligation management, compliance plans, and regulatory change.
  • Knowledge of APRA and broader commercial regulatory environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly, succinctly, and with impact to senior stakeholders.
  • Leadership attributes with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
