Corporate Events Sales Specialist

As a Sales Executive (MICE) at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, you will be responsible for quoting and contracting corporate and MICE groups & events, ensuring seamless service from initial enquiry to handover to the Event Management team. Your tasks will include conducting site inspections, attending trade shows and networking events to enhance the Hotel's profile and industry presence, identifying new opportunities and leveraging existing relationships with corporate clients, agents, PCOs and 3rd party RFP channels to drive new leads for each sector, promoting and selling all Hotel services with a focus on up-selling and add on sales to heighten the client experience and add revenue for the business, completing internal reporting, follow up and administration, and growing your skillset within an experienced, supportive and high-achieving team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quote and contract corporate and MICE groups & events ensuring seamless service from the initial enquiry to the handover to the Event Management team.
  • Conduct site inspections, attend trade shows and networking events to enhance the Hotel's profile and industry presence.
  • Identify new opportunities and leverage existing relationships with corporate clients, agents, PCOs and 3rd party RFP channels to drive new leads for each sector.
  • Promote and sell all Hotel services, with particular focus on up-selling and add on sales to heighten the client experience and add revenue for the business.
  • Complete internal reporting, follow up and administration.
  • Grow your skillset within an experienced, supportive and high-achieving team.

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and a drive to close the deal.
  • Previous experience in Events, Reservations or Business development.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to 'think on your feet'.
  • Creativity to come up with new ideas and drive innovation.
  • Experience with Delphi and Opera (highly advantageous, but we are also willing to teach if you have the right attitude).
  • Flexibility to work varied days/hours to suit client requirements when required.
