Job Description:

The Practice Lead is responsible for leading a team of Behaviour Support Specialists to deliver evidence-based psychosocial programs that support the rehabilitation of young people in custody.

This role involves developing strategies and interventions that address the individual needs of young people, providing leadership and direction to the team, and overseeing the delivery of programs.

The Practice Lead will work closely with the Clinical Manager and other stakeholders to identify emerging issues and trends and provide authoritative advice.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing effective strategies and interventions for young people with complex needs;
  • Providing leadership and direction to a team of Behaviour Support Specialists;
  • Overseeing the delivery of evidence-based psychosocial programs;
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to identify emerging issues and trends;
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A relevant qualification in psychology, social work, youth work, or a related discipline with applied/practical content;
  • Experience leading a multi-disciplinary team to deliver interventions and services to complex client groups;
  • A specialist expertise working with young people presenting with multiple and complex needs;
  • A clinical understanding of forensic populations working directly with youth;
Benefits:

This is a VPS 5 role, earning $109,730 - $132,764 per year plus superannuation.

Parkville is a 136-bed youth justice facility located in Melbourne. The facility accommodates boys and young men and girls and young women aged 10-17 years on remand and when sentenced.
