About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Control Centre Manager to join our team at Kinetic, Australasia's leading bus operator. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead our Network Controllers and play a pivotal role in the minute-by-minute management of our live transport network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of Network Controllers, providing clear direction and support to ensure their daily activities are proactive and deliver our network KPIs.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor team performance against operational KPIs, providing coaching and feedback to drive improvement.
  • Network Coordination: Oversee the coordination of our network activities from service departure to successful achievement of key network KPIs.
  • Strategic Development: Work closely with the Manager – OCC to develop and implement network management strategies that proactively address areas of concern on the network, minimising impact to customers, drivers, and KPIs.
  • Crisis Management: Act as the first point of escalation for Network Controllers during incidents and emergencies.
  • Communication: Facilitate effective communication between Network Controllers, depot staff, and external stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach to network management and incident resolution.

Requirements:

  • Leadership Experience: Demonstrated experience in a similar position in operations supervision of procedures with experience coordinating teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills: Strong leadership ability and interpersonal skills, including evidence of ability to manage a team of direct reports and confidently make critical decisions.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent customer service skills and ability to give clear and concise instructions/communications to diverse teams in person and via radio/phone communication.
  • Self-Motivation: Self-motivated with a demonstrated enthusiastic approach to day-to-day operations and positive approach to a continually changing work environment.
  • Analytical Skills: Expert analytical skills and high level of initiative to operate autonomously with demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement.
  • Technical Skills: Strong computer, communications, and operations systems literacy – Microsoft Office, Business intelligence software, vehicle tracking software, and internal systems.
  • Driver's Licence: Minimum medium rigid driver's licence and relevant authority plus working with children check, or willing to attain – to support with driving or events in appropriate circumstances.
