Data Centre Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Centre Area Manager to join our team at Amazon. This role is responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the data centre.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee all aspects of the data centre's critical physical infrastructure, ensuring high-quality work and minimal impact on internal and external customers.
- Manage teams of 24x7 engineering technicians in all facets of their career, providing guidance and support to ensure success.
- Engage in improvement projects, collaborating with various support teams to drive them from conception to completion.
- Coordinate daily with third-party vendors to ensure adherence to contracted Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Effectively and efficiently manage the operations budget and expenditures, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
- Respond to after-hours on-call situations, investigating and resolving issues within the data centre while managing the investigation, mitigation, and recovery process.
- An excellent understanding of electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data centre operations, including feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, and other related equipment.
- Proven track record of people management and team development, ensuring staff are ready for any situation through skill and process development.
- Able to solve problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context and implementing proactive issue detection and reporting.
- A strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem-solving, with the ability to maintain SLAs through proactive issue detection and reporting.
