About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Centre Operations Manager to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our infrastructure services team, you will be responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of our data centres.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of data centre operations, ensuring high quality and minimal impact on internal and external customers.
  • Manage teams of engineering technicians in all facets of their career, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  • Engage in improvement projects, collaborating with various support teams to drive projects from conception to completion.
  • Coordinate daily with third-party vendors to ensure adherence to contracted service level agreements.
  • Effectively manage the operations budget and expenditures, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Routinely operate as the after-hours on-call Data Centre Operations Manager, responding to issues and managing investigations, mitigation, and recovery.

Requirements:

  • Excellent understanding of electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data centre operations.
  • Proven track record of people management and team development, ensuring staff are ready for any conditions through skill and process development.
  • Ability to solve problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context.
  • Strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem-solving, with the ability to maintain service level agreements through proactive issue detection and reporting.
