About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Centre Operations Manager to join our team at Amazon AWS. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT systems management, with a focus on data centre operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data centre technicians and operators
  • Guide, train, and educate data operations technicians on best practices related to service owner issues
  • Manage and deliver mid-size projects
  • Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and SLAs
  • Manage a diverse team of data technicians with varying skills
  • Maintain the on-call schedule, coordinating absence and vacations
  • Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels
  • Write and deliver performance reviews for staff
  • Continuously improve all processes and procedures
About the Team

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We're the people who keep the cloud running, supporting all AWS data centres and servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

Requirements
  • 4+ years people management experience with direct reports in an IT related field
  • 4+ years experience in managing IT systems
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of change concepts, problem, and incident management
