Data Centre Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Centre Operations Manager to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our infrastructure management team, you will be responsible for leading a team of skilled Data Centre Technicians and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth operation of our data centres.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Data Centre Technicians to ensure the efficient operation of our data centres
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements
- Develop and implement strategies to improve data centre operations and reduce costs
- Manage and deliver mid-size projects to improve data centre efficiency and reliability
- Recommend and document policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and SLAs
- Manage a diverse team of Data Centre Technicians with varying skills and experience
- Maintain the on-call schedule and coordinate absence and vacations
- Recruit and train Data Centre Technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels
- Write and deliver performance reviews for staff
- Constantly improve all processes and procedures to drive positive improvements
- Assist and manage relationships with external vendors and contractors
- Ensure adherence to and exceed local Health & Safety standards in all data centres
- Create and maintain metrics of all aspects of our data centres and utilise those metrics to drive positive improvements
- Assist in implementing service methodologies that include incident management, problem management, change management, and capacity management
Requirements:
- 4+ years people management experience with direct reports in an IT-related field
- 4+ years experience in managing IT systems
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of change concepts, problem, and incident management
