Job Description

As our Strategic Operations Director - Rental & Used, you will be responsible for leading and growing our Cat Rental and Used businesses across Victoria and Tasmania. Your key focus areas include delivering exceptional customer service, improving overall performance, and achieving profitability targets.

  • Drive your geographically dispersed team to deliver on the performance objectives of both the business and Caterpillar.
  • Improve operational efficiencies and enhance both customers' and employees' experiences.
  • Ensure continuous improvement initiatives are implemented in all areas of responsibility.
  • Oversee the utilisation of available resources, facilities, systems, plant, and equipment to ensure value for money for our customers.
  • Collaborate closely with the Cat rental and used teams, wider William Adams, Caterpillar, customers, and suppliers.
  • Represent William Adams Cat Rental and Used within industry associations, events, and customer activities.
  • Ensure business is conducted in accordance with our Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience leading Sales & Operations teams within the heavy machinery industry.
  • Desirable experience in the rental/hire equipment space.
  • Strong project, people, and commercial management skills.
  • Sound conflict resolution, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance customer, business, and people needs.
  • Ability to improve performance through effective coaching and management.
  • Dedicated commitment to safety and quality work practices.
  • Formal qualifications in sales, marketing, or business would be considered favourably.
