Caregiver for Individual with Spinal Cord Injury

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated individual to provide support and care for a 21-year-old male participant with a spinal cord injury in Thirroul, NSW. The participant requires assistance in 2-hour blocks throughout the day, with morning, afternoon, and evening shifts available.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with personal care, catheter management, bowel therapy, hoisting, skin checks, medication administration, and domestic tasks such as cleaning and meal preparation.

Key skills and experiences required include an Australian Driver Licence, Current National Police Clearance, Working with Children's Check, NDIS Workers check, First Aid & CPR Certificate, NDIS Worker Orientation Module, Infection Control Training - Covid19, and a reliable, proactive, and positive attitude.

Two current references are required, and the role will commence on Monday, with immediate start expected.

Responsibilities:
  • Assistance with personal care
  • Assistance with catheter management
  • Assistance with bowel therapy (administering enema and digital stimulation)
  • Hoisting (full hoist/sling hoist)
  • Completing skin checks
  • Medication administration
  • Assistance with domestic tasks including cleaning & meal preparation
