
Rural Healthcare Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and competent senior rural generalist to join our team as a Senior Medical Officer. The successful applicant will be required to practice a high level of in-patient and emergency medicine, independently, with a broad scope of practice despite limited onsite investigations available.
About the Role
The Senior Medical Officer will be based at one of our rural hospitals and will also be required to provide backfill at other three rural hospitals when necessary.
- Responsibilities:
- Practice as a skilled and competent senior rural generalist
- Deliver quality care to inpatients, outpatients, Emergency Department clients across a variety of acuity and care needs
- Knowledge and practical application of National Quality & Safety Standards through delivery of Safe and Quality focussed Patient centred care
Requirements:
- Possession of Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) +/- FARGP or Fellowship with the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) will be highly regarded
- Vaccinated against certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
