
Healthcare Support Specialist

This role is a vital component in ensuring the seamless operation of healthcare services.
The incumbent will play a crucial part in supporting the efficient delivery of patient care, working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve this goal.
The Health Administration Officer (HAO) is responsible for scheduling appointments, managing waiting lists, and coordinating patient admissions and discharges.
They also perform administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and maintaining accurate patient records.
In addition, HAOs monitor and order non-clinical supplies, maintain adequate stationery stock, and support the day-to-day running of the office.
Key responsibilities include responding to inquiries from patients, families, visitors, and staff, with professionalism and empathy.
Other duties include preparing agendas and taking minutes for meetings, distributing internal and external correspondence, and managing phone calls and emails.
HAOs work across various healthcare environments, including public and private hospitals, general practices, specialist clinics, and community health settings.
They demonstrate clear, professional verbal and written communication skills to engage effectively with patients, colleagues, and healthcare professionals.
Moreover, HAOs manage a busy workload, meet deadlines, and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
They confidently use clinical systems, office software, and data entry applications.
Mandatory Requirements- A current Working with Children Check – Blue Card
- At least 5 years' experience in a similar role
