About the Role

We are seeking a commercially minded Senior Legal Counsel to join our team. In this role, you will provide transactional and regulatory legal advice across a diverse range of banking and finance activities.

You will play a key role in supporting strategic initiatives that strengthen, simplify, digitise and optimise our operations. This role involves structuring and settling banking and finance transactions, providing advice on legal and regulatory requirements, and legal support for regulatory projects.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders across distribution, product, credit, risk and compliance, as well as external law firms, regulators, and industry bodies.

About You

You are a qualified legal practitioner in Australia (6-8 years PQE), experience ideally gained in private practice or in-house within the banking and finance sector. You bring strong technical legal skills and a practical understanding of banking and finance transactions.

A collaborative mindset and the ability to build trust with stakeholders by delivering clear, tailored legal advice is essential. Confidence in leading complex transactions and projects with minimal supervision is also required.

Structured thinking and problem-solving skills will be valuable in managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
