We are seeking a highly skilled Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team at Ability Action Australia. As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals with disabilities to achieve their goals and improve their overall wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough assessments to identify the needs of NDIS participants and develop person-centred plans to support their goals and aspirations.
- Support Plan Development: Collaborate with participants, families, and carers to develop and implement evidence-based support plans that promote positive behaviour and independence.
- Goal Setting and Achievement: Work with participants to set and achieve meaningful goals, utilising a positive behaviour support framework and a commitment to eliminating restrictive practices.
- Collaboration and Communication: Build strong relationships with participants, families, carers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and support.
- Advocacy and Role Modelling: Act as an advocate and role model for best practice in behaviour support, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and understanding.
- Experience: Minimum 6 months experience in Behaviour Support in an NDIS setting.
- Qualifications: Completed a degree-level qualification as an allied health professional and hold current membership/registration with a relevant professional body.
- Skills: Excellent time management and organisational skills, proactive attitude, and genuine passion for working in the disability sector.
