Make a Difference in the Lives of Young People

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Support Worker to join our team in North Brisbane. As a Youth Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work a minimum of 5 x 24-hour shifts per fortnight. Travel around the North Brisbane region will be essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with young people and provide emotional and professional support
  • Navigate through personal challenges and provide support in collaboration with the team
  • Engage in post-crisis support functions to better support young people with complex needs and behaviours

What We Offer

Our client offers a comprehensive induction program that encompasses classroom, online and on-the-job training. The induction program is designed to provide qualified Youth Workers with a solid understanding of a 'day in the life' of a Youth Worker as well as the skills, knowledge, and practice, to work within our Integrated Practice Framework.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (or hold recognized qualifications)
  • A current Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
  • A full Australian Drivers Licence
  • Demonstrated ability to openly engage and build trust with young people from diverse backgrounds
  • Implement strategies and tactics to mentor and teach our youth necessary life skills
  • Maintain a level of grit and resilience to overcome challenges that are confronting
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver results
