About the Role

This role offers an exceptional opportunity to lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for the prevention and control of vaccine preventable diseases in Victoria across the networked public health system.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing authoritative, evidence-based advice on vaccine preventable disease matters to management within the Department, external agencies and members of the public as required.

Key responsibilities include preparing, reviewing and presenting written and verbal reports, including the development of state-wide strategies, policy, protocols and the preparation of briefing material in relation to the prevention and control of Vaccine preventable diseases.

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience and expertise in public health, leadership, strategy development and delivery, finance and resource management, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for the prevention and control of vaccine preventable diseases in Victoria.
  • Provide authoritative, evidence-based advice on vaccine preventable disease matters to management within the Department, external agencies and members of the public.
  • Prepare, review and present written and verbal reports, including the development of state-wide strategies, policy, protocols and the preparation of briefing material.
  • Pro-actively build and maintain positive relationships with local public health units and key stakeholders that facilitate engagement and contribution to Vaccine preventable disease prevention and control strategies.
