About the Role

The Infection Prevention and Control Specialist develops and implements effective strategies to minimize the transmission of communicable diseases across diverse settings. The goal is to support industry, workplaces, and communities in communicable disease preparedness, prevention, and control knowledge and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing, delivering, and continuously improving infection prevention and control functions
  • Supporting industry, workplaces, and communities in communicable disease preparedness, prevention, and control knowledge and practices
  • Providing expertise in implementing Victorian and Australian infection prevention and control standards and guidelines
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary professionals to improve health outcomes
Requirements

To be successful, you'll bring:

  • A Registered Nurse registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • A Postgraduate qualification in Infection Prevention and Control or equivalent
  • Recent clinical experience in Infection Prevention and Control
  • Working knowledge of, and experience implementing, Victorian and Australian infection prevention and control standards and guidelines
  • Experience in providing infection prevention expertise across diverse settings
  • A commitment to maintaining clinical knowledge and further education within scope of practice
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, establishing collaborative professional relationships
  • Experience writing clear, concise reports, policies, and procedures
