Job Opportunity

We are seeking skilled individuals to join our team for a railcar finishing project. This project involves the design, manufacture and maintenance of 65 new six-car passenger trains.

The role requires contributing to the high-quality finishing of railcars through various painting and surface preparation tasks.

  • Perform surface preparation, including sandblasting and paint prep, to ensure optimal coating adhesion
  • Apply protective and decorative coatings to railcar components using industry-standard techniques and equipment
  • Install decals in line with design specifications
  • Follow detailed work instructions and safety procedures to maintain quality and compliance
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules while upholding high standards of finish and durability

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A trade, engineering or tertiary qualification - Certificate III in Painting
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and best practices
  • Automotive painting experience, 2 Pac, epoxy, body filler work, fiber glassing and masking experience an advantage
  • Ability to prepare surfaces for painting (cleaning, sanding, masking)
  • Skilled in applying paint finishes using brush, roller and spray equipment
  • Experience preparing and installing decals and signage
  • Good communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and forward-thinking
  • Ability to influence, motivate and contribute to continuous improvement
