General Practice Specialist Role

This role is a fantastic opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centered specialist services in general practice. You will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to deliver safe and effective care.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for admitting, consulting, diagnosing, and providing procedural services as required by the hospital. They will also attend and be available during rostered hours and on-call periods, including clinical handover, supervision, teaching, and emergency and routine care.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of RACGP or ACRRM, or equivalent overseas-trained specialist pathways.
  • Recent and comprehensive experience in general practice demonstrating medical expertise.
  • Commitment to medical professional development and ability to assist in training and knowledge development of staff and trainees.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with patients, colleagues, and the public.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team and with stakeholders.
  • Leadership and management skills, including experience in safety, quality improvement, and adapting to a changing health environment.
  • Ongoing professional development and engagement in clinical governance activities.
  • Contributions toward improving individual and societal health as an advocate.
