General Practice Specialist

This role involves providing contemporary, comprehensive, and professional specialist services that are safe, effective, evidence-based, and patient-centered.
The successful candidate will be responsible for admitting, consultative, diagnostic, procedural, outpatient, telehealth, and on-call services as required by the organization. They will also be expected to attend and be available during rostered hours and on-call periods, including clinical handover, supervision, teaching, and emergency and routine care.
- Key responsibilities include:
- Providing high-quality medical care to patients in an acute medical facility.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives and contributing to a culture of safety and excellence.
- Engaging in ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with best practices in general practice.
Requirements include:
- A primary medical degree registrable with the relevant authority.
- Recent and comprehensive experience in general practice demonstrating medical expertise.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with patients, colleagues, and the public.
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team and with stakeholders.
- Leadership and management skills, including experience in safety, quality improvement, and adapting to a changing health environment.
