About the Role

St. Vincent's Hospital Melbourne seeks an experienced Clinical Specialist to provide high-standard clinical assessment and consultation to clinical staff, demonstrating excellence in risk assessment and management of consumers with forensic backgrounds or problem behaviours.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Work within the Strengths Model of recovery-oriented practice providing supervision, education, and leadership to staff.
  • Work one-to-one and build alliances with external stakeholders and other teams within the mental health program.
  • Undertake assessments and provide consultations recommending targeted interventions for consumers with complex mental health needs and forensic presentations.

Requirements

  • Current registration with AHPRA (if applicable)
  • A minimum of 10 years post-qualification clinical experience within Mental Health Services
  • Extensive experience in assessment, intervention, and case management services for consumers with complex mental health presentations.
  • Experience in providing clinical supervision to other mental health staff.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022 and relevant legislation.
  • Current Victorian driver's license.
  • National Criminal History Check, or willing to obtain.
