Job Title: Junior Sous Chef

Oaks Darwin Elan Hotel is currently seeking a motivated and skilled individual to fill the position of Junior Sous Chef.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and present high-quality meals in a timely manner.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team, providing guidance and supervision as needed.
  • Effectively manage and delegate key duties within the kitchen brigade.
  • Maintain stock control through accurate monitoring and recording of wastage, ordering, and storage procedures.
  • Investigate and report on any discrepancies related to food quality and inventory.
  • Ensure all back-of-house areas and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe, and hygienic condition.
  • Perform additional tasks as required by the Executive Chef or Chef in Charge.
Qualifications:
  • Hold relevant Certificate III Cookery qualifications.
  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership skills, with experience in leading and motivating a diverse team.
  • Be able to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Have availability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
