
Chief Child Welfare Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our department, you will work collaboratively with parents, other programs, and partner agencies to strengthen parenting abilities and ensure child safety and wellbeing.
The role involves providing high-quality assessments, interventions, and case management support to families at risk of entering the child protection system. You will work with families to develop goals and strategies that address increased child safety and provide consultation and liaison with early childhood services to support strengthening child safety, parenting, and early child development outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Engaging with families through proactive outreach and providing high-quality psychosocial assessments and interventions to young children and their families.
- Providing culturally responsive, family-focused intervention approaches that are child-centred, strengths-based, and informed by evidence and practice wisdom.
- Actively engaging families in goal-setting and strategy development to address increased child safety.
- Delivering proactive, targeted, and intensive assessment and planning in partnership with services and families.
- Managing electronic client files and documentation, maintaining high-quality case notes, and ensuring relevant data is entered into systems.
Essential qualifications include an appropriate Social Work qualification, Psychology Board registration, or Occupational Therapy qualification and practice registration.
This role requires a current Australian driver's licence and COVID-19 vaccination status prior to commencing work.
