Child Wellbeing Co-ordinator

This role plays a pivotal part in developing and managing strategies to enhance the capacity of Local Health District (LHD) services to identify, respond to, and support child safety, welfare, and wellbeing concerns.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing, delivering, and evaluating education and training programs for LHD staff that build their capability to address the needs of vulnerable children and their families.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Foster high-level clinical focus on improving systems to support LHD services in recognising and responding to child safety, welfare, and wellbeing concerns.
  • Develop and implement education and systems improvement initiatives, including creating, delivering, and evaluating training programs.
  • Lead the implementation of evidence-based practices and trauma-focused service delivery models.
Key Selection Criteria:
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Psychologist or relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work or Counselling.
  • Postgraduate clinical experience in inter-related dynamics and effects of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child protection.
  • Extensive experience in providing specialist consultation to staff in trauma-informed service delivery settings.
  • Leadership in decision-making, performing complex and critical clinical work with high-level professional knowledge.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of child protection and wellbeing principles and practices, and be able to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
