Job Description:

About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to fill a key position in our team. As a Community Advocate: Researcher Writer, you will be responsible for representing your domain of focus and informing the overall engagement of TEDxMelbourne through your domain.

This is a voluntary position that entails a commitment of approximately 1-3 hours per week, which may increase during event periods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help research, inform, and create and share knowledge of what's happening within your domain for our team and beyond.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest news and advancements in your domain.
  • Represent your domain of focus and inform the overall engagement of TEDxMelbourne through your domain.
  • Build the community, create content, establish relationships and partnerships, create conversations, and identify trending topics of interest.

Long-term Goals:

  • Deliver a flagship event to the Melbourne community.
  • Contribute to the content roadmap for the next 12 months.
  • Help shape the strategy for community engagement at TEDxMelbourne.

Requirements:

  • Experience in content creation and strategy.
  • Research skills and writing expertise.
  • Experience within the TEDx community or similar idea-sharing platforms.
  • Experience working within a volunteer organisation.
