Job Opportunity for Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Locum Occupational Therapist in North Queensland. As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing occupational therapy assessment and intervention for clients in the Transition Care Program (TCP) and National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

  • About the Transition Care Program (TCP)
    • The TCP is a joint initiative designed to support older Australians in regaining physical and psychosocial function following a hospital stay.
    • This program offers short-term restorative care aimed at enhancing independence and avoiding premature entry into residential aged care.
    • Servicing an extensive geographic area, the program provides 46 community-based places.
    • Applicants require 2 years or more of experience in occupational therapy.
    • Benefits include flexible working hours and work vehicles available for community outreach services.
    • A valid driving license is required as TCP operates as a home-based community health service.
    • Accommodation can be arranged if needed, and relocation support is also available.
  • Key Responsibilities
    • To provide occupational therapy assessment and intervention for TCP clients and a 10% NDIS caseload with the goal of restoring function and independence.
    • Collaborate with the TCP multidisciplinary team and Townsville-based staff to deliver goal-oriented, time-limited therapy.
    • Document progress, set goals, and complete discharge planning in a timely manner.
