Job Opportunity

This is a senior level, permanent position for a Team Leader to lead the Environment Restoration team.


About the Role

The successful candidate will provide technical guidance to staff on the completion of maintenance activities and works across public infrastructure assets including roads, stormwater and drainage, coastal areas, open spaces, parks, sporting facilities and cemeteries. This role works closely with Operations Coordinators and Crew Leaders to identify resource needs in line with operational requirements and future objectives.


Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain council's natural assets, restore habitats, improve water quality and reduce the impact of pest plants and feral animals.
  • Support local environmental groups, work programs, community events and activities.
  • Oversee bushfire management.
  • Manage coastal, wetland and wildlife conservation efforts.

Requirements

We seek an experienced leader who has:

  • Certificate IV in Leadership or equivalent qualifications.
  • Certificate IV in Conservation and Land Management, Ecology or relevant qualification and experience.
  • Accredited chainsaw ticket (Level 2).
  • Agricultural Chemical Distribution Certificate (ACDC).
  • Firefighting supervisor qualifications.
  • Current 'C' class manual driver's licence.
  • Construction Industry White Card.
  • First Aid Certification.
