About the Role

The Software Business Development Manager will work closely with our software customers to help them leverage the cloud and modernize their platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of software sales, cloud technology, and AWS services. As a trusted advisor, you will help our customers develop a long-term strategy with AWS, combining your knowledge of the market with a deep understanding of emerging technology trends.

Responsibilities

  • Work with customers to accelerate their business outcomes and recommend AWS products and services that meet their needs.
  • Drive solution discussions with customers, diving deep into the details to solve complex challenges.
  • Work backwards from customer business needs to accelerate adoption of the most appropriate AWS services.
  • As a trusted advisor, use your interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders from technical teams to executives, ensuring short-term technology decisions align with long-term goals.
  • Help define the strategy by engaging and partnering with highly technical teams, such as Solutions Architects, Technical Account Managers, AWS professional services consultants, and consulting/managed services partners.
  • Act as a thought leader in the wider community, playing a key role in educating, sharing best practices, presenting at events, writing white papers, blogs, and running workshops.
  • Serve as a key member of the Software Sales team, influencing decision makers across multiple domains to ensure customer success in building solutions on AWS that align to long-term business goals.

The Software team focuses on Australian software companies that produce, maintain, and distribute software. Our customers are business-to-business providers who generate revenue through software license sales or Software as a Service (SaaS) subscriptions. We help our software customers leverage the cloud and modernize their platforms to reduce costs, increase agility, and ultimately build better software products.
