About the Role

The Technical Officer position is a pivotal role in maintaining and operating specialised instrumentation at our Advanced Materials Characterisation Facility (AMCF). This opportunity requires a dedicated and skilled individual to support research and enhance the commercial potential of the facility.

As the Technical Officer, you will be responsible for operating complex instrumentation, scheduling resource usage, and assisting in laboratory procedures. You will advise and assist users on specimen preparation, instruct and train users on instrument operation, and provide direction in characterisation techniques.

You will generate revenue through fee-for-service by providing sample analysis to researchers and industry clients. Compliance with WHS policies, preparing risk assessments, and standard operating procedures are essential aspects of this role.
