Aboriginal Youth Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Aboriginal Advanced Case Manager to join our team. This is an ongoing, full-time role that involves working with young people and the community.
The Department of Justice and Community Safety prioritizes providing culturally safe and effective services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples. Our team provides holistic and comprehensive services to increase opportunities for enhanced quality of life and community inclusion for young Aboriginal people with complex needs, challenging behaviors, or high-profile cases.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading day-to-day statutory supervision, assessment, and case management of young Aboriginal people
- Developing innovative and culturally sensitive approaches that prioritize diversion, rehabilitation, and reintegration into the community
To be successful in this role, you must possess a thorough understanding of the Victorian Aboriginal Community, including its society, culture, and issues impacting it. A Bachelor of Social Work or Advanced Diploma in Community Services Work is highly desirable, but other tertiary qualifications at Advanced Diploma or above may also be considered if they include units of study in case management/casework practice and have had supervised practical work placements.
