**About the role**
The Aboriginal Youth Mentoring Coordinator t Coordinator is responsible for providing a safe and effective service to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth aged between 12-24 years. This role includes identifying needs within the community and working with stakeholders to address these needs, and ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and community members have the information, knowledge and skills to make informed choices and reduce risk factors.

Working closely with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander specialist within the Youth and Community team, the Coordinator will plan, lead and manage the daily operations of Burbangana initiative, programs and service. To ensure optimal performance and the highest level of client focused models of care.
- Lead a diverse team of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Youth
- Coordinate and manage all components of Burbangana initiatives including Intensive Specialist Cultural Support, Outreach Support, Targeted youth support programs, Training and employment pathways community partnerships and networks
- Oversee and work within the Burbangana framework to provide information and support to at risk Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young peoples, their families, empowering them to make positive and informed life choices
- Oversee and deliver outreach interventions to engage and support the most at risk and vulnerable Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young peoples and community members
- Work closely with other service providers to coordinate and deliver activities and community events, as well as support and engage vulnerable Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young peoples in line with Burbangana outcomes
- Oversee the delivery of outreach and Burbangana initiatives whilst maintaining a high quality of direct care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young peoples and the community accessing services.
- Oversee reporting and accountability to assess effectiveness of the service and service outcomes

**About You**
- At least 5 years experience developing and implementing community-based initiatives targeting at-risk Young Person and families, lived experience is highly regarded
- Minimum Qualification Certificate 4 in Youth Work or equivalent Community Services or Social Studies qualification
- Leadership experience with proven record of developing staff capacities in the form of coaching and mentoring
- Experience developing and delivering targeted programs to young people and with strength in managing complex needs
- Experience building partnerships and networking skills
- Experience in mental health, AOD or housing, desired
