Claims Handling Role Overview

This dynamic position involves managing a portfolio of claims from inception, investigating liability situations, gathering and analyzing medical and rehabilitation data, assessing claim values, and negotiating settlements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and negotiate claims, including communication with solicitors or direct claimants by phone, correspondence, and/or attending settlement conferences and hearings
  • Obtain and review medical, financial, investigative, and rehabilitation reports to assist in accurate claim assessments
  • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements while reviewing ongoing medical, financial, investigative, and rehabilitation reports
  • Develop effective strategies to resolve claims cost-effectively
  • Ensure early access to suitable rehabilitation for optimal recovery from injuries
  • Negotiate claims settlements with solicitors in line with legislative, regulatory, and procedural guidelines
  • Provide excellent customer service to stakeholders through timely responses and efficient processing
Requirements:
  • Sound knowledge and experience in handling CTP or personal injury claims is preferred
  • Tertiary qualifications, including legal, allied health, or insurance, would be advantageous
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Pro-active and energetic team player
  • Professional approach to all aspects of claims handling
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to listen, build rapport, communicate complex information, and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong administrative and written skills to manage claims effectively
