Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Prostate Cancer Nurse Specialist to provide specialist nursing support and care to individuals affected by prostate cancer, regardless of their location in Australia.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive information and education via phone and electronic communications, guiding patients to appropriate internal and external support programs, and contributing to educational programs and staff development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a resource for health professionals and community organisations.
  • Offer practical and emotional support to individuals affected by prostate cancer.
  • Deliver evidence-based information and education via phone and electronic communications.
  • Guide patients to appropriate internal and external support programs.
  • Contribute to educational programs and staff development.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and research programs.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (Division 1-General) with AHPRA registration.
  • Minimum of five years post-graduation experience.
  • At least three years' experience working with prostate cancer patients.
  • Advanced knowledge in urology or oncology nursing and supportive care.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
