Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurse to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will provide specialist nursing support, care, and advice to individuals affected by prostate cancer, regardless of their location in Australia.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse with advanced knowledge in urology or oncology nursing and supportive care to make a real difference in the lives of men and their families affected by prostate cancer. As a Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurse, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive, evidence-based information and education via phone and electronic communications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialist nursing support, care, and advice to individuals affected by prostate cancer.
  • Act as a resource for health professionals and community organizations.
  • Deliver comprehensive, evidence-based information and education via phone and electronic communications.
  • Guide patients to appropriate internal and external support programs.
  • Contribute to educational programs and staff development.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and research programs.
  • Maintain professional standards in nursing and cancer care.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Registered Nurse (Division 1-General) with AHPRA registration.
  • Minimum of 5 years post-graduation experience.
  • At least 3 years' experience working with prostate cancer patients.
  • Advanced knowledge in urology or oncology nursing and supportive care.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in MS Office, internet, email, and databases.
