Prostate Cancer Telenurse Job OpportunityAbout the Role

As a Prostate Cancer Telenurse, you will provide specialist nursing support, care, and advice to individuals affected by prostate cancer, regardless of their location in Australia. This role combines on-site and remote work arrangements, offering flexibility and autonomy.

The key responsibilities include:
  • Acting as a resource for health professionals and community organisations.
  • Providing practical and emotional support to individuals with prostate cancer.
  • Delivering comprehensive information and education through phone and electronic communications.
  • Guiding patients towards suitable internal and external support programs.
  • Contributing to educational initiatives and staff development.
  • Participating in quality improvement activities and research projects.
  • Maintaining professional standards in nursing and cancer care.

Requirements

To be successful in this position, you must possess:

  • A Registered Nurse (Division 1-General) qualification with current AHPRA registration.
  • A minimum of five years post-graduation experience.
  • At least three years' experience working with prostate cancer patients.
  • Advanced knowledge in urology or oncology nursing and supportive care.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, internet, email, and databases.
