About Pullman & Mercure Melbourne Albert Park

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Manager to join our Front Office team. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in assisting the Front Office Manager with all aspects of departmental operations, making business decisions that exceed service expectations for our guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Front Office Manager with departmental operations, making business decisions that exceed service expectations for our guests and staff.
  • Develop, implement and maintain procedures for the Front Office department, fostering a focus on guest engagement.
  • Manage the team, including training and development, ensuring the team's success.
  • Responsibility for the health and safety of all patrons, guests and staff members.
  • Manage departmental staffing levels, ensuring maximum productivity for the Front Office team.
  • Build and establish strong relationships with existing and new guests, promoting and empowering the Front Office team for success.

Requirements:

  • Personable, proactive with a desire to take initiative and responsibility for the team.
  • Previous experience in a similar high-paced managerial role.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Desire to grow your skills and progress your managerial experience.
  • Ability to work autonomously when leading the overnight team.
  • Previous experience with a PMS (Opera experience will be highly regarded).
  • Reliability & flexibility to work a rotating roster.
  • Strong desire to achieve high results, driven by success.
  • Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification and First Aid certification (or be willing to obtain).
  • Ability to work a rotating roster, including overnight, weekends and public holidays.

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
